RBS Motherwell
Havelock Europa was engaged as the fit-out contractor to deliver the Royal Bank of Scotland branch design to an existing major site in Motherwell. The goal of the project was to recreate the RBS model by implementing the standardised branch design over the two floors of the site.
Working in partnership with project management consultants MACE and appointed architects Lewis and Hickey, Havelock Europa provided all trades contracting, mechanical and electrical, and required structural alterations to ensure the project was delivered to RBS specification within the twelve week schedule.
To ensure no disruptions to branch operations, all works were scheduled out-with branch trading hours. Key to the successful delivery of the project was regular communication between Havelock Europa project management team and RBS branch manager communicating progress, phase of works and any temporary implications to RBS staff.
Havelock Europa’s project team used their banking and retail experience to ensure the exact translation of the RBS retail banking design concept. Key to the success was combining the creation of an open plan feel using lighting and finishes to create a retail environment with a series of interview suites to enable RBS staff to take time in the right environment to discuss financial products and plans with customers.
Scottish First Minister Jack McConnell officially opened the branch on the 16th of April 2006. Havelock Europa has implemented this RBS branch template on a further 24 projects to date since the successful completion of the Motherwell branch.
