Lloyds TSB
In 2008, HCI were appointed as one of two national framework contractors for Lloyds TSB. The framework agreement covers both retail banking and corporate office projects.
The first office project to be delivered under this agreement was Henry Duncan House, Lloyds TSB headquarters in Scotland.
The project brief was to create a flexible meeting space for use as a conferencing, entertaining, and meeting facility in the heart of the Henry Duncan House building.
Upgraded to Category A standard, the refurbishment project consisted of approximately 350 square metres. The HCI team, led by Project Director Craig Reid provided the client with a complete interiors solution, comprising services design, project management and all-trades contracting.
The scope of works included complete new lighting control system, significant adaptation of the ventilation systems, upgrading of IT infrastructure and general decoration works including flooring, walls and ceilings.
Key to the success of the project was HCI’s ability to work closely with the client and adapt the works programme to ensure key challenges were met without detriment to the project time-scale.
The project commenced on-site on 1st October and was completed on schedule on 31st October.
The project whilst of a small scale was at the heart of a large fully operational head quarters, highly sensitive to any potential disruption. A key challenge of the project was the relocation of the central data cabinets, which had to be moved to a new location to enable the works to be completed.
The HCI team worked in partnership with Lloyds to create a solution, which did not impact client operations or the project integrity.
Due to the project location, HCI used supply partners based in the Scottish Central belt that had extensive Lloyds TSB experience and experience of working in Henry Duncan House.
